Find a great Yorkshire Terrier Breeder
from the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies:
The Breeder Option
If you have decided you want to purchase from a breeder please do your research to find a reputable and responsible breeder.
Responsible breeders invest a lot of time, money and heart into producing healthy, sound and well-adjusted puppies and kittens. Many have excellent websites with information about the breed and their animals.
You should try to find a local breeder as it is important to visit the breeder before you agree to buy so thatyou can see the facilities where the animals are housed and meet the animals to ensure the breeder is legitimate and reputable.
Google "Yorkshire Terrier Breeders" and you'll get a whopping 2.5 MILLION results, so how do you find a reputable breeder?
-
You'll see 'sponsored' results that could be puppy mills or "backyard breeders
-
You'll see lots of sites that use AKC (American Kennel Club) in their title to try and add credibility and authority to their site
-
You'll see lots of "aggregators" - sites that charge puppy mills to advertise their puppies, and ship them to you, sight unseen (and for a small fortune)
So how do you find a good/reputable breeder?
